Monday Oct. 18 Mrs. Newman

Dear Parents,
Thank you to those who have sent in some money to buy healthy snacks; I opened several to find a$20 bill! Thank you, because the money goes quickly. I spent $46 dollars yesterday, and the fruit and vegetables are already half gone! :) I think I will make the limit I spend to be about $40 per week. I am assuming the novelty will wear off, but it does seem that having a big basket of fruit and a display of brightly coloured veggees encourages the kids to snack on them, rather than candy and cookies.

Ongoing: Keep reading at least 15 minutes a day and fill out your booklist form as you go. Your Independent Reading Duotang is due on Wed. Nov. 17. Though your booklist is right now kept in your Travel Folder, you will put it in your duotang when it is full or when the duotang is due.
Soon I will be assigning questions about the independent reading that will refer to fiction, so if you have been reading many non-fiction books, please choose some novels the next few weeks.
