Details for those at school tomorrow (May 23):

Students who are not going to Swangard tomorrow for the track meet are allowed to bring snacks for the 2 hour D.E.A.R. time first thing in the morning.  Please remember they must be: neat to eat, healthier options (ie. Sunchips as opposed to regular chips) and quiet.

English with Mrs. Dyck

All four paragraphs of your persuasive essay rough copy should be finished by May 18.
Now read them over carefully and edit your work.  Add the appropriate dress-ups
such as ly words and adjectives.  Check these off on your chart. (see the orange
coloured page).  If you want to start typing the good copy, you can.  The dress-ups
should only be marked on the rough copy -not the good copy.  Remember to indent
each paragraph.

• Your choice of the question from our topic on healing will be done as an open book assignment.  You may work on this at home if you wish and bring it in on Wednesday.  If so bring a book to read while others in the class complete theirs.Choose one of the following to answer:  If God is all-powerful and wants the best for us, why do so many Christians suffer?  OR Why are some Christians healed when they pray and others are not?

Continue to use your four square page in order to write Paragraphs A and B of your persuasive essay.  Eventually we will be typing these out so if you want to type out your rough copy, you certainly may.  Just save the file and email it to yourself.  The rough copies of paragraphs A and B are due Friday, May 11.  You should already have the introduction paragraph finished.

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for all the help with driving for dragon boating and for our Power House field trip.  I still need forms for the power house field trip from Rikki, Liam, Sarah Anna, Justin, Sophie, Austin M. Naomi, and Robert.

Those of you driving to dragon boat training may wish to join us in the boats.  If so, water shoes will help you stay comfortable, or perhaps a change of shoes.  The dock does sometimes dip under the water a bit!
