A QUICK NOTE TO PARENTS:
My colleagues tell me your kids were very brave with their shots. I hope the cookies and juice helped sweeten the day for them. I dropped by at the end of the day Friday to say hi, see how things went, and to show them my golden retriever Molly, who had just had a bath and brushing and so was looking her very best.

Your children had the opportunity to take home invitations for their pastor and grandparents for our special day for them, Nov. 13. If they did not pick up some, and you would like one they can be obtained from the office.

We are coming into the last weeks of the first term, often a busy time with tests and things due. Our system of deciding what homework should be done each night, what to take home, and about how long to spend on things should help keep them on track. Thursday quite a few kids asked for a photocopy of what we had listed.

When I marked the Independent Reading, it looked like some students ended up doing many of the strategies on one night. Reading for about 15 minutes each night should help spread that load out over the week.
